Did you know that it is customary for the bride and groom to cut a piece of log on their wedding day in Germany or if you get married in Sweden you are most likely to get kissed on your wedding day by a guest if you recent spouse decides to excuse him/herself out of the room. From wooden ducks as a symbol of fidelity to straw men as a symbol of good luck there are weird and fascinating traditions all over the world. While some may seem perfectly harmless, wait till you hear this, in Malaysia members of the Tidong tribe don’t allow the married couple to visit the toilet for three whole days, because it’s believed to get bad luck (I wonder how much luck the couple has after they survive those three days).
