Environmental Impact Of Rio 2016
The Rio Olympics was the highlight of 2016, records were broken, new heights were reached, there were scandals that were brewing and some surprises along the way, all in all a fun filled entertaining Olympic, just the way it should be. But while we dwell in the athletic achievements of the event very few talk about the impact the Rio Olympics had on the environment. The Olympics is huge, and the Rio Olympics had around 28000 athletes and their staff travel from all over the globe to Rio. Maintaining so many people, feeding them, the electricity and not to forget the waste that would be produced is not a trivial thing. But the organisers did their best to cover all grounds, from making the medals out or recycled materials to composting all the organic waste, there were many measures taken up by the Rio Olympic organisers to see to it that they did their best to curb environmental impact.
