How To Organize A Birthday Party For A Child

As the birthday of your child slowly approaches, there are ever more things on your mind and less time to carefully plan every little detail. Don’t be nervous – we know that organizing a birthday party is a more difficult job than anybody would think, especially if you are the only person in charge. Just remember that you are doing this to make children happy and all your problems will disappear as if by magic.

Make a plan

If you are good with numbers you should take some time to roughly calculate costs in advance. Think about how many guests you would call – whether there will be only children or their parents are coming too? Always count on more food and drinks than it will actually be needed. If you are the one who will be preparing food, make a list of ingredients which you will need and try to get them as soon as possible.

Invitations

Once you determinate the list of guests, you should invite them to the party. It should be done at least a week or two weeks before the event. This should be enough time for your guests to organize their free time, and if necessary, move their obligations for the other day. Therefore, weekends might be the perfect time. Inviting people to kid’s birthday party is never been easier thanks to social networks, e-mails etc. Nevertheless, you can be original and design your own invitations or you can buy ready-made ones in the mall. After all, the invitation on Facebook will expire, unlike printed invitations that can be saved and kept for a long time in order to make memories alive after a while.

Location

Depending on the number of guests, it can happen that you will need to look for kid’s birthday party venues. Kids can be reckless and clumsy, so they could ruin something in your home without any intention (especially if there are too many of them). If you are not willing to spend another day cleaning your house, you know what to do.

Make them occupied

It’s been known that children’s attention span is shorter than the one of an adult – you can lose control over the situation. You need to make them busy all the time. Children like to play, so you need to come up with a game which everyone would participate in. For instance, you could organize drawing, dancing, or singing competition. Or, you can prepare pirate masks for children and you be their captain and tell them what to do.

‘Chow time’

Keeping in mind that kids will be running and screaming around pretty much all the time, you should pick food and drink wisely. Something which is soft and creamy will probably look bad on your walls or smeared on the floor. The simple solution is always the best one – cheese chips, crisps, ketchup-free French fries, salted rolls and other snacks are perfect for this occasion. Leave a birthday cake for the end, when parents come to pick their kids up. Parents will enjoy feeding them and they can also try some.

Be patient and confident and don’t forget to have fun at your own party. After all, it’s a special day for you and your children too.
